Yes, I'm seeing exactly the same thing on a fresh install: Mac OS 10.3.9 on a dual G4. MySQL Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.26, for apple-darwin7.9.0 (powerpc) Query Browser 1.2.4beta even worse- if I set the default schema, it crashes immediately upon opening.

I downgraded to MySQL 4.1, and the crash no longer occurs when using query browser: mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.21, for apple-darwin7.9.0 (powerpc)

Please, try to repeat with a newer version, 1.2.5 rc, and inform about the results.
