Platform:
SunOS hassium 5.10 Generic_118833-22 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60

Error message:
/usr/local/bin/mysql-administrator: line 103:  1624 Segmentation Fault      (core dumped) $PRG-bin $args

How to repeat:
start using: mysql-administrator

UI connection window opens fine.
Server hostname: localhost
Username: either mysql or root will cause problem
Password: left blank
port: 3306 (default)

All other settings left as default.

Does not matter if password field contains the right, wrong or no password.

The core dump is the last line of mysql-administrator script in /usr/local/bin.

mysqld version is 5.0.24a-standard

localhost via /tmp/mysql.sock port 3306
