Description:
When I try to enter a single line comment into anywhere of a script or query it will freeze and you must select 'End Task' from Windows Task Manager to close it.
If you have any unsaved text FORGET IT. And rewrite it form last SAVE.

How to repeat:
1. Start MySQL Query Browser
2. Select File -> New Script Tag or File -> New Query Tab from the menu.
3. Click into text area and try to enter -- (single line comment)

It will crash with 100% CPU usage.

Suggested fix:
Nothing.

Thank you for a bug report. Verified just as described, also on Windows XP. This is THE BUG!

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead.

Thank you for your interest in MySQL.

PS: This bug has now been reported several times (first one was Bug #22214). Please follow the guidelines for reporting and verifing bugs and *search* first if it was already reported. That saves us all a lot of work. Thank you.
