Using this binary:
  mysql-standard-5.0.24a-linux-x86_64-icc-glibc23

How to repeat:
% ar xv mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.a | grep array.o
% file array.o
array.o:            ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1 (GNU/Linux), not stripped

Suggested fix:

Looks like a duplicate of bug #22238 (at least the reason is the same), already fixed.
