Please see new comments (and attachments) for bug #22290. I can still reproduce the problem using your test case. Please retry your test case with sql-mode="STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION"

Sorry if this is not the correct way to 're-open' an existing bug but I did not see that as a selectable option for bug #22290.
