I rebooted hoping to restart Administrator but it still won't connect either to a local database or to a remote one. It just crashes with the same error. I reinstalled the Gui Tools but Administrator still will not run. (All the other tools run without a problem).

My earlier report is a bit unclear. I was using query Browser and experienced problems. After that I could not and still cannot connect to Administrator.

Thank you for the bug report. I experienced that crash when it was blocked with the Norton Suite firewall, however after a computer reboot the issue goes away. Have you a firewall enabled if yes can you verify if MA is blocked? Thanks in advance.

I brought down the firewall and turned off my virus scanner (AVG). The problem still exists.

I removed all files relating to Gui Tools from the file system and from the registry. After reinstalling the problem persists.

Thank you for the feedback. I was able to repeat on Windows 2003 Server. I attached a picture which shows the message box crash.

Miguel - the image file you uploaded shows a different error than what I'm experiencing. Once I enter server info etc. and click "ok" a dialogue box opens asking if I want to report the error to Microsoft.

Actually, I cannot reproduce this problem, whatsoever. The error address of the bug reporter indicates a potential problem in the service enumeration code (Windows only) which I have further secured to be on the safe side. However with such vague descriptions it is really difficult to get to the core of the problem. It would tremendously help if you both would include a step by step list how to reproduce this bug. Thank you.

I can't reproduce this bug because I can't reinstall a working copy of Administrator on my Windows system - one of those catch 22s.

I managed to get Administrator started again - after uninstalling Merlin. I'll reinstall Merlin and see if I can crash it again.

After reinstalling Merlin, Administrator crashes after attempted log in.

Indeed on Windows 2003 where it crashes to me I have Merlin installed.
