Description:
When creating a connection to a MySQL 4.1.20 (on RHEL 4) database I get the following name for the server

*Invalid data specifier*(*Invalid data specifier*)

If I try to open a table I get the following error:

"42S02Table 'information_schema.TABLES' does't exist"

If I try to connect to a MySQL 5.0.24a (Windows) database it works fine.

How to repeat:
-In server Explorer click "connect to database"

- Enter in server name, user ID, password, and default database for a MySQL 4.1.20 server

- Click OK

You'll see that your connect name turns to "Invalid data specifier"

Suggested fix:
Works great with MySQL 5.0.24a on Windows XP

I get also a "*invalid data specifier*(*invalid data specifier*)" new connection in the Server Explorer tree below "Data connections"

with MySQL - 5.0.3-beta-nt, VS 2005 Pro, XP SP2.

The connection properties are OK, but no tables are listed.

If I try to create a new table, I get a "#42522Unknown column 'DEFAULT_COLLATION_NAME' in 'field list'" error message in a MessageBox with a "Microsoft Visual Studio" caption, followed by a "Failed to reload document data! Document will be closed.".

I can create a connection to my MySQL databases using an ODBC connection.

Please, try to repeat with the lates tversions, MySQL server 5.0.26 and Connector/Nedt 1.0.8 RC (!), and inform about the results.

Using MySQL - 5.0.24a-community-nt all is working fine.
Thanks!

Whenever I go to the server explorer and "add connection" the "Add Connection" dialog box comes up. If I press any key the dialog box immediately goes away (you see the letter typed just before the box disappears). This happens if you type in any of the fields. This is with VS Tools 1.0.1

I did install the Beta of SP1 for VS2005 and this may have caused an issue. If there is anything I can do to help troubleshoot this let me know. If not I'm just going to wait until it gets stable...
