Can I please have more details. Just opening MA and selecting the startup variables does not cause an access violation on my machine. Do you have more than one MySQL running? Is one or more of them inactive (services stopped)? Do they all have a my.ini file in their root folder. Is there another my.ini or my.cnf file somewhere on the system?

I have 5 mysqld, each has self .ini file. 3 of them are running and 2 are stopped.

I pass this bug on to Vladimir. IIRC he has done some work regarding several instances on one machine etc.

The bug is also repeatable when there is not datadir option in configuration file. There is similar bug #23450.

Please try with the next release. This issue should already be fixed.

Sorry for missing your comment. Error is not repeatable now.
