Thank you for the bug report. I was unable to repeat with latest released version. If you are using older version please upgrade.

I am using the latest version of the GUI tools (1.2.2b) and can reproduce with two different WinXP SP2 clients on any of three servers (5.0.18 and 5.0.24, Win2000 or WinXP)... Shouldn't be hard to reproduce.

Description: Trying to access a DB (catalog) in which a stored function contains a string with some extended chars (é for example) raises an access violation error in MySQL Administrator and Query browser (Access violation at adress 0034AE6E in module 'libmysqlx.dll'. Read of address 00000004). The stored procedure is functionnal with extended characters, only bug is in MySQL Admin or SQL Browser: no schema table or stored procedure can be visualized. How to repeat: IN VB, through NET connector 5.0.0.0.0 Public Sub Create_Ext_Char_Test_Function() Dim ConXion As MySqlConnection Dim SQL As String Dim MyCommand As New MySqlCommand ConXion = New MySqlConnection ConXion.ConnectionString = MyConnStr Try MyCommand.Connection = ConXion MyCommand.Connection.Open() SQL = "CREATE FUNCTION TestMauditsFrancais() RETURNS varchar(255) " & _ "BEGIN " & _ "DECLARE TestText VARCHAR(255); " & _ "SET TestText = 'qwérty'; " & _ "RETURN TestText; " & _ "END; " MyCommand.CommandText = SQL MyCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() MyCommand.Connection.Close() Catch myError As MySqlException Throw New ApplicationException("Me suis planté: " & myError.Number & " " & myError.Message) Finally MyCommand.Dispose() ConXion.Dispose() End Try End Sub -->Execute the sub in any DB. Try to open the catalog in MySQL Admin or SQL Query browser. -->Replace the "é" by "e" in qwérty and there is no problem. Suggested fix: No idea, but I will be greatfull if you do.
