Description:
Cluster is comprised of 2 data nodes, 1 management node, and 2 client nodes. The set up is a 3 machine cluster -- two machines with 1 data node and 1 client node each, and one machine running the management node. During a time when one data node had crashed (for reasons reported in a separate bug filing), the entire cluster came down with the message:

Time: Friday 18 August 2006 - 01:44:58
Status: Temporary error, restart node
Message: Pointer too large (Internal error, programming error or missing error message, please report a bug)
Error: 2306
Error data: DbtupExecQuery.cpp

Program: ndbd
Pid: 2708
Trace: /usr/local/mysql/data/ndb_3_trace.log.10

When attempting to restart the cluster, the same message would be displayed upon reaching Phase 8 and the cluster would not start:

How to repeat:
Once in the "Pointer too large" state, attempt to restart the cluster.

Hi,

Some bugs in this area has been fixed since 5.0.18...
Could you try a newer version?
