Description:
MySQL Workbench seems to depend on the rather outdated libsigc++ 2.0.11 . This makes it rather difficult and impractical for distributions like Ubuntu 6.06 LTS to create a MySQL Workbench package.

P.S. Thank you for your great work on free software!

How to repeat:
Try to compile MySQL Workbench on Ubuntu Dapper or Edgy with the use of packaged dependencies only.

Suggested fix:
Update MySQL Workbench to make it work with a more recent libsigc++ .

I can confirm this. I would have made a package a while ago had it not been for this. It's really really inconvenient and silly to depend on 2.0.11, not newer.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead.

Thank you for your interest in MySQL.
