Is it a problem with the libc6 (my system uses 2.3.6) ?

Hi Jean-Paul, thanks for your problem report. Can you verify that all of the old files are removed and that you can repeat this behavior with latest version (1.1.20)?

Hi Jean-Paul, can you verify that all of the old files are removed and that there's no permission issues involved? I tried mysql-query-browser-1.1.18-1.suse93.i586.rpm on my Suse 32bit box and it works without problem. My libc is 2.3.5 but I consulted and we are not aware of any problems regarding 2.3.6

Hello, As it was not working I look in Debian's packages and I find the package in 1.1.18, it works. I think all "old" files were removed, but it is possible that some "old" files were remaining even if all "tar.gz" where installed in /opt/mysql created for the tests. The Suse "static" (and the first one I installed) was a rpm, so I can't say exactly what was installed and where ! By using standard Debian package the dependancy problems are solved. For me the bug can be closed as I have not enough time to investigate : I go on holidays at the end of the week ... Thanks JP Pozzi
