Description:
The following ALTER statement

ALTER TABLE tb5_eng1 REORGANIZE PARTITION part2 INTO
(PARTITION part8 values in (5,6) DATA DIRECTORY =
'/data0/mysql/mysql-5.1-clone/mysql-test/var/master-data/tmpdata' INDEX DIRECTORY ='/data0/mysql/mysql-5.1-clone/mysql-test/var/master-data/tmpindex' (SUBPARTITION subpart81, SUBPARTITION subpart82,SUBPARTITION subpart83, SUBPARTITION subpart84),
PARTITION part9 values in (7,8) DATA DIRECTORY =
'/data0/mysql/mysql-5.1-clone/mysql-test/var/master-data/tmpdata' INDEX DIRECTORY ='/data0/mysql/mysql-5.1-clone/mysql-test/var/master-data/tmpindex' (SUBPARTITION subpart91, SUBPARTITION subpart92,SUBPARTITION subpart93, SUBPARTITION subpart94)

contains a split of one partition with 4 values (4 subpartitions) into 2 partitions with each 2 values and 4 subpartitions. I assume that this should be rejected.

See attached program.

How to repeat:
perl mysql-test-run.pl error_reorg_part2_8

Thank you for the bug report. Verified as described:

'/home/miguel/dbs/mysql-5.1/mysql-test/var/master-data/tmpindex' (SUBPARTITION subpart91, SUBPARTITION subpart92,SUBPARTITION subpart93, SUBPARTITION subpart94))' failed: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
