The feedback WAS provided but you didn't follow up. Why don't you fix the bug instead of annoying us with bureaucratic nonsense.

I am sorry, but you had not changed bug status after uploading the screenshot, that's why I had not noted it.

Anyway, it can be incomplete or incorrect download. Nobody else reported about similar problem. So, please, try to download and install latest version, 5.0.19:

http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.0/mysql-standard-5.0.19-osx10.4-powerpc.dmg

and inform about the results.

>> Anyway, it can be incomplete or incorrect download.

It was NOT an incomplete or incorrect download. Thank you for assuming that I am stupid. In return I assume that YOU are stupid.

>> Nobody else reported about similar problem.

Ah, how many people have to report a bug before you take it serious ? My sincere compliments for your wonderful company !

>>So, please, try to download and install latest version, 5.0.19:

Again, my sincere compliments, the link is incorrect.

>> and inform about the results.

This bug report is about version 5.0.18, not about version 5.0.19.

I am sorry for the broken link. Please, use the most appropriate link form http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html to download the latest version, 5.0.19, and inform about the results.

> It was NOT an incomplete or incorrect download.

I assumed the incomplete download after asking my colleague who uses Mac OS X about any problems with any *.dmg files for 5.0.18. He confirmed that all images were fine for him.

> In return I assume that YOU are stupid.

Surely you can assume that. Anyway, you have to PROVE, that there is a bug, even to somebody like me.

> Ah, how many people have to report a bug before you take it serious?

One is enough. But the bug should be repeatable for anybody to be able to fix it. Nobody esle confirmed this bug for a month. That's why I asked you to repeat download.

> This bug report is about version 5.0.18, not about version 5.0.19.

If version 5.0.19, the lateast, has no problem you described, there is no need to fix older versions.

> I assumed the incomplete download after asking my colleague who uses Mac OS X

were fine for him.

And I informed you that they were NOT.

> Surely you can assume that. Anyway, you have to PROVE, that there is a bug, even

In true open source projects, you are NOT talking to lawyers, but to technically skilled people. Since that is clearly not the case with MySQL AB, I will stop any communication.

> One is enough. But the bug should be repeatable for anybody to be able to fix
it. Nobody esle confirmed this bug for a month. That's why I asked you to repeat
download.

No, you didn't ask that. You referred me to a newer version instead.

> If version 5.0.19, the lateast, has no problem you described, there is no need

The point is that bug reports should be taken seriously. MySQL AB fails here.
[28 Mar 2006 15:38] Valeriy Kravchuk
So, if you are technically skilled, you can just get MD5 checksum for your package downloaded and compare it to one presented at the MySQL's site. If it is the same, then you proved there is a bug, either on the download web-page or in the package. Is it hard?

> In true open source projects, you are NOT talking to lawyers, but to technically skilled people.

Talk technical language then.

> Since that is clearly not the case with MySQL AB, I will stop any communication.

It is up to you. I am really sorry that I disappointed you.

As I already explained, if version 5.0.19, the lateast, has no problem you described, there is no need to fix older versions.

> The point is that bug reports should be taken seriously. MySQL AB fails here.

Look at the other bug reports and see how it works.
