Description:
Trying to execute a query from a current tab into a new tab fails with the message: "You tried to execute an empty string. Please type an SQL command into the SQL edit field and execute again."

I used all three methods to execute the query: the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Enter), the menu (Query -> Execute in New Tab), and the Execute button to the right of the query window.

Regardless of the method used, a new tab is opened, where the query fails with the above error message. Any future queries in the new tab succeed.

How to repeat:
Run any query in an open tab. Once the query results are displayed, execute the same query in a new tab using any of the three methods from above.

The same is apparently true of "Split Tab and Execute".
