Description:
I downloaded and installed
http://mysql.osuosl.org/Downloads/MySQL-4.1/mysql-standard-4.1.15-apple-darwin8.2.0-powerp... After this finished, I shut down the machine (Firewire G3 PowerBook).  Later, when I booted the machine, my system preference icons had all been changed into light switches!

How to repeat:
no idea, except to try another install of this release

Thank you for a problem report. I have no hardware to repeat it, but, please, try to install newer version, 4.1.16: (http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-4.1/mysql-standard-4.1.16-apple-darwin8.2.0-power...)

May be, it was just a packaging bug...
