Description:
I have been using MySQL successfully for a local Mantis bug tracking system.
I created a new database from the command line for mysql, created
tables, then ran some jsps that used the tables successfully.

When I went back to Mantis which uses local mySQL, it failed with:

SYSTEM WARNING: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

Now I notice under mysqladmin that the socket is /tmp/mysql.sock.

Did something change the socket for Mantis? How do I fix this?
Is it a bug in MySQL? An operational error on my part?

How to repeat:
Install Mantis. Check that it's working.
use mysql to create a new database.
Add tables, fields.
use tables and fields from jsp, verify working okay.
check operation of mantis.
