I have a string with an unexpected format.
I use it with ExtractValue(). Crash.

    '>          <clerk>lesser wombat</clerk>
    '>        </order>';
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)

mysql> select extractvalue(@xml,'order/clerk');

Peter,

I guess it should it return the same result with:

  select extractvalue(@xml,'/order/clerk');
