Description:
MySQL freezes (builds up connection requests without returning results or cleaning them up until finally we get too many connections error. also we are unable to restart it. only windows 2003 restart solves it)

This problem accours when using the following query:
SHOW TABLE STATUS from ________

I so that another user reported the same problem just a week ago.

We are a hosting company and whenever someone runs this query it effects all of our customers.
please advise asap.

How to repeat:
run the query on the specified mysql version

A workaround appeared on Dec 30, 2005 in MySQL-5.0.18, and will also appear in MySQL-4.1.17.
