Description:
Hi, i have a problem with w2k connection using myODBC. i have a client that is using w2k server and is a not connected to internet. then i try using a window ME as my workstation. Then i goto the odbc setting there to test my connection. when i click on the test button it took a very very long time to prompt me a message telling me that the connection is sucessful. then i try to click on the combo box to select database. but when i click on the combo box it always not responding.
so i go back and use another w2k as my server and try this case again at my own place. But the result is different. the connection is more faster than my client one. the only different is that my w2k server is connected to the internet.
so can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

How to repeat:
just use a w2k server to try.

Thank you for a problem report. Please, send the results of "ipconfig /all" command on your server and problematic client, as well as "netstat -r" results from the client that connects slow. Do you have any firewalls installed? The exact version of MyODBC (3.51.x) and MySQL server you are trying to connect to may be also useful.

Here are the result that you ask me to give you.

Please, add the information about the problematic client and reopen this bug report. You may also try to install and check MyODBC 3.51.12 (available at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html)

Your networks information looks OK for me...

Have you tried to connect using mysql command line client? Is it slow too? If you are connecting with host names, please, try to connect using IP-addresses and inform about any change of connection speed. DNS issues are a common reason for such a slowdown.
