Description:
Connector/ODBC Window => Password input field:

When for user, who has no password, input password, consist of any single char, connection test is successful. 

How to repeat:
Create mysql user without password.
Create new DSN using this user login.
Use as password any single char.
Press Test button.

Thank you for your bug report. This issue has already been fixed in the latest released version of that product, which you can download at

  http://www.mysql.com/downloads/

Explanation: This problem is not repeatable with both 3.51 and 5.1 recent versions. Tested against 5.0.54BK on WinXP Pro SP2 localhost.
