Description:
the C-API function mysql_query() does not support unicode.
Is there any way to get unicode text into a database using the
C-API functions?

How to repeat:
compile mysql_query() with a sql-statement with unicode text

Suggested fix:
unicode-version of the C-API function mysql_query()

Please, check latest version, 5.0.51a, and environments with utf8 as default character set.
