Thank you for a problem report. Please, try to install and use newer version of QB, 1.1.17.

If the hang happens with 1.1.17 too, try to figure out what exact sequence of actions gives you this hang. What version of the MySQL server are you connecting to, by the way?

I had the same problem with both Mysql Server 4.1.14 and also with Mysql 5.0.16.

The same problem occurs with the new version 1.1.17.
I reproduce the problem :
In the dialog box, type multiple "enter", after few lines It'll hang all the applications.

Thank you for the additional information. Is it plain Windows 2000 (Server, Professional), or you have some Service Packs installed? Do you have any firewall or antovirus software on this machine?

As for your description of how to repeat: "In the dialog box, type multiple "enter", after few lines It'll hang all the applications." - I do not completely understand it. What dialog box should I use?

So, please, describe all the steps.

Sorry, It's the query window. To recreate the problem, type (Carriage Return) and create empty lines.
The OS is Windows 2000 Professional and I have Symantec Antivirus.

I've just hit Enter key 42 times in the SQL Query Area of QB 1.1.17 on my plain XP Professional (sorry, has no 2000 Professional at hand). No hangs. Can you, please, try to switch off your antivirus temporary and check if QB hangs without it?
[12 Dec 2005 15:24] karim Abbas
I disable and enable file system realtime protection in Symantec Antivirus and the problem do not occurs.

Thank you for additional testing. So, can we close this bug report now (as it is not a bug in QB itself, but some kind of conflict with other software)?

Thanks for your help. We can close it. If something new we'll open new case.

Closed as agreed with the reporter. Looks like a problem was caused by antivirus software...
