Description:
I had been running Mac OS X 10.3.7(?), then installed MySQL 5.0, used it, then installed Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4), then got all the updates, taking me to 10.4.3.

When I tried to open the MySQL panel under System Preferences, the window title changed to "Loading MySQL ..."

How to repeat:
Open "System Preferences", then click on the MySQL icon. Only "Force Quit" will get you out of it.

Thank you for a problem report.

What exact version of MySQL 5.0.x you had installed? If it is not 5.0.16, can you, please, reinstall 5.0.16 instead and try once more?

I was using 5.0.15, and Valeriy Kravchuk suggested trying 5.0.16. That did the trick.

I had looked for a 5.1 before reporting the bug, but did not realize what was available was newer than what I already had.

Thanks, Valeriy, for the blazing fast response!

Closed because 5.0.16 works OK with latest Mac OS X 10.4.3. See last comment.
