Thank you for a problem report. Is it failing when the whole test suite is run or this singe test also failing sometimes? The exact version of OS X may be also useful to note.

Description: Sometimes, the test "rpl_slave_status" fails with this symptom: === cut === rpl_slave_status [ fail ] Errors are (from PATH/mysqltest-time) : mysqltest: At line NNN: query 'start slave' failed: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query (the last lines may be the most important ones) === cut === This has been observed (at least) in - 4.1.16 xserve-64bit-4.1-debug.log normal - 5.0.15 osx-tiger-x86-5.0-max.log normal - 5.0.16 osx-tiger-x86-5.0-max.log normal + ps-protocol osx-tiger-x86-5.0-cluster.log normal I am not sure whether this is the same bug, and I cannot yet offer a saved tree. How to repeat: Test suite failure, but rare.
