Description:
I am running a MySQL 4.1.14-nt server on localhost, accessed via linked tables on a Microsoft Access 2003 front-end. For security reasons the database password is omitted from the MyODBC settings and is entered in upon opening the front-end.

Since upgrading from 3.51.11-1 to 3.51.12 I have been unable to log in by entering a password upon connection in the MyODBC connector dialog. Storing the password in the MyODBC settings works fine. Error message: 'ODBC call failed.'

How to repeat:
Attempt to link a set of MySQL 4.1.14-nt tables to a MS Access 2003 frontend via MyODBC 3.51.12.

MyODBC setup:
Configure a connection to a local database via ODBC Administrator in XP. Specify username, usual Access settings (Return matching rows, change BIGINT to int).

Access setup:
Attempt to link tables from created ODBC entity. Once the 'Machine Data Source' has been specified, MyODBC connector dialog box should pop up. Entering a password and choosing a database at this point results in 'ODBC call failed.' If all of the information is pre-set instead (via ODBC Administrator), connection is successful.

When will 3.51.13 be available?
Do you recommend to downgrade to 3.51.11 while waiting?

This bug has been fixed and the proper patch has been committed to the sources. However, as the release of MyODBC 3.51.13 is being delayed I would suggest trying this preliminary windows build:

I am sorry but the link is broken. The download ftp folder is empty. I am doing something wrong? I am logging as anonymous to the ftp.

The link is not broken. The problem is that it is split in two lines and you have to use both lines as one to get the file.

I am copying the complete link again but as I cannot preview it I am sure if it will be right. It worth the try.

Same problem. The word wrap breaks the link in two lines and I cannot avoid it.
Well, all of you that will use the link be careful with that.

I have just checked the version and it solved the problem, at least for me.
Great job!! Thank you!!
