Description:
"mysql -u root" lets mysql.exe crash on different machines with different OS (at least Windows XP Home and Windows 2003).

On a 3rd machine the program returns control immedeatly to the calling process (without crashing, but without beeing able to work with).

How to repeat:
- install "mysql-essential-5.0.15-win32.msi" (file from today, 18.10.05 04:12:51), copied from internal server, with leaving the security settings unmodified (no password for root user).
- open command prompt and run "mysql -u root"

Suggested fix:
fix crash.
