Description:
Config Wizard v1.0.5 fails on Windows 2003 64bit machines when during the detailed configuration the machine type is selected as Sever Machine or Dedicated MySQL Server Machine.  

After pressing Execute to make the changes, it fails on the Write Configuration File step, with an error code -1 stating that my-template.ini could not be processed and written to my.ini.

I suspect this will lead to some frustatration as this OS's popularity grows and users want to configure MySQL to run in higher performance modes.  

How to repeat:
On Windows 2003 64-bit edition, run the Config Wizard and choose Detailed Configuration, then set the machine type to Server or Dedicated.  The error also occurs for MySQL Server 4.1.14.

Suggested fix:
I think memory allocation/process prioritization is managed differently in 64-bit windows.

Same problem here, Different platform though.
Windows NT 4.0 Server, Service Pack 6a.

It happens when trying to install as Server or Dedicated Server machine. When trying to install as a Developer machine, it works just fine.

I've had MySQL 4.1.8 but wanted to upgrade to MySQL 5 (5.0.15, the latest) and this bug got me.. So i tried to get the latest version of the 4.1 branch, which is 4.1.15 i believe, Same problem!!! 

So i returned to the version i had before trying to upgrade, 4.1.8 version and everything works again.

NOTE: When i say upgrade, I mean full uninstall + remove the directory and then an install of the desired version.

I was unable to reproduce this bug in WInXP64/2003-64.  Can you please test one of our later releases ?

Tried again with 5.0.16 (now config tool 1.0.8) and still occcurs for me on two windows 64bit machines.  If I figure anything further out I'll let you know, but we are moving to Linux anyway so it probably won't be too serious an issue for us.

This is still an issue on the latest version on MySQL 5 for windows server 2003 64 bit.  The configuration tool will only allow me to configure the server as a developer server.

Running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64, neither 5.1.15-beta (x86) nor 5.1.15-beta (x64) will configure as dedicated server.  Looks like we're still waiting for a resolution to this one.
