Sorry...I was not able to reproduce the bug on Windows Server 2003. I can install and uninstall odbc driver without problems. Could you say me you have installed SP1 ?

Yes, SP1 is installed for the Windows 2003 Enterprise Server.

I was unable to repeat the behavior reported on Windows 2003 Std Edition SP1. Could you please verify if after an uninstall process the files myodbc3* are actually removed and after the install process there are in the directory \Windows\system32. Thanks in advance.

The operating system is Windows 2003 Enterprise Server not standard. I verified that the files myodbc3* are actually removed after I ran the uninstall program. When I ran the install process they are in the directory \WINNT\system32 not the directory \Windows\system32. The MyODBC datasource is not available in the datasources drop down list after the install is run. But if I try to install a second time the system knows it was installed and offers the options to modify, repair or remove. If I remove and reinstall, it simply goes through the install process but again does not appear in the list of datasources.

Please reopen. I will need to get a solution or migrate to MS Sql Server.

I'm having the same problem... was this solved?

Message for Brent Wegmann. I believe I solved this myself by installing MySQL to a directory named MySQL as opposed to the long file name directory that MySQL tries to install to.

On a 64-bit edition you can't use the control panel datasources icon... you must go to system32 wow64 folder and open that datasouces exe file

I'm noticing the same thing. Did anyone come across a work-around? I'm running a Windows XP Professional SP2 machine and running into the same exact problem. I see that the files were installed, it's just not coming up in my ODBC Data Source drivers list.

Forgot to mention: the folder to which MySQL was installed is already simply named "MySQL" on my machine, yet still no luck. --Thanks.
