Description:
After several attempts installing and removing 7.6 and rebooting, it does not install program groups. There is no indication that it was installed other than it says it installed successfully at the end, MaxDB shows in add-remove programs, and there are processes added to services with manual as their startup method. I tried both setup and inst programs. Neither one work.

How to repeat:
Log in as administrator and attempt to install on XP Professional

Suggested fix:
Add a program group for MaxDB

Verified by followint customer steps. It looks like it installs correctly, but without any program groups. I went into the directories, tried to start services and run manually but without success. I am not sure if it supposed to update DOS paths or classpaths, but it is not and the errors are .libs not found.

Attaching a txt file with install output for reference.

This is the install log that verifies it installed

Hi all,

can't confirm. This is not a bug. I belive you're mixing up the core MaxDB database software (server, client libraries) and the GUI tools installation (Database Manager GUI, SQL Studio).

The core MaxDB database software does not install a program group because it does not contain any GUI interfaces. It this not meant to create a program group.

Download the additional MaxDB GUI tools (DBM GUI, SQL Studio) - if wanted - from: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/maxdb/7.6.00.html#DBMGUI .

Regards,
Ulf
