Description:
Not sure what's wrong. I'd previously installed 4.1.11 and it was working fine. I installed mysql 5.0 to check out stored procedures and after removing it and attempting to reinstall 4.1.11 it now fails to start. Seems as if something from 5.0 is being left in the registry or something.

How to repeat:
Remove any previous version and install 5.0 beta......

When installing again 4.1.X you did over the 5.0.XX mysql database ?
Or you removed completly the 5.0.XX install directory ?

Hi,

I removed mysql 5.0 with add remove programs then rebooted the server before reinstalling 4.1.13a or 4.1.11. I did notice that there is still a MySQL 5.0 subdirectory undernieth the MySQL directory. Would that be affecting the configuration wizard ?

thanks,

Could you please provide my.ini file ?

I've since reinstalled the server and have successfully installed 4.1.13a and have things working again.... guess we can close this bug report.
