To add a little more detail to this -- the install goes okay until MYODBCConfig attempts to launch. It appears briefly in the dock and then an error message pops up - 'The application MYODBCConfig quit unexpectedly.'

Apple change some things in their ODBC (actually improvements). But this breaks the package created on/for OSX 10.3 will not work on OSX 10.4. We now have a new package specifically for OSX 10.4. See Connector/ODBC 3.51.12 on www.mysql.com.
