Description:
Installed to connect to MySQL 4.0.9 on Solaris server. I get a connection, but any other action causes loss of connection. (Lost connection during query error (#2013))

I have the same problem with MySQL Query Browser: I can connect, I can even see data structure, but as soon as I try to execute a query I get a server has gone away error (#2006)

ODBC to MySQL works fine (at least I can get data into Excel)

interactive_timeout=28800

How to repeat:
??? Install on this platform version combo??? Since I can't get any functions to work, it's hard to say.

I see from the sql log that both apps send a "select @@sql_mode" to the server. This fails because I am running 4.0.9 (and on anther server 4.0.20). I thought these were supported...

Hi!

I'm unable to reproduce this bug. Can you please send us a copy of your my.cnf (or my.ini) file ?

Also, can you check if you have any firewalls installed that may be blocking packets, or limiting the connection ?

Thanks
