Description:
When I first launch the workbench app, I get an error message saying:

"Error while loading image

An error occured while loading image search_sidebar.png
"

When I close that error, workbench opens up, but when I try to connect to a DB, I get an error that says:

"MySQL Workbench has encountered a problem
Parameter is not valid
"

This happens when I try to connect to any of DB connections.

How to repeat:
Happens every time I launch workbench

Suggested fix:
I have no idea

I have the same error as Jeff.

Hi,
I have the exact same error.
I would classify it as Critical as we cannot use the software at all.

I tried a Repair of the app via the Windows app manager, but it didn't work (the install wizard was not able to complete the repair).
Then I completely uninstalled the app, restarted my laptop, and reinstalled the app from scratch, and it works fine now.

I had the same experience to fix the issue. Had to completely uninstall the current version (47). The uninstall actually "hung" at the last stages. But I did a fresh install of the previous version (46), and that completed the uninstall and then installed version 46... things seem to be working fine now.

This was how I solved the issue:
