Description:
hile using MySQL Workbench version 8.0.43 on Windows 10, the application throws an unexpected exception error. The error message states that one of the Workbench modules has crashed and suggests reporting a bug.

This issue occurs intermittently while performing normal operations such as executing queries or opening a connection. The application either freezes or crashes completely after the error appears.

No specific error message is shown apart from the generic exception popup

How to repeat:
Open MySQL Workbench
Connect to a MySQL database
Execute a query / navigate between tabs
After some time, the application throws an unexpected exception error
Workbench becomes unresponsive or crashes

This issue applies to the legacy MySQL Workbench 8.x implementation that is no longer supported or maintained.
MySQL Workbench 26.7 is a complete rewrite using a new technology stack and does not use the affected legacy implementation.
Therefore, this issue is not applicable to the current MySQL Workbench product and as such is closed.
