Description:
set persist binlog_cache_size with same value, unset not success with error workbench windows for nullReferenceException 

How to repeat:
connect local db, system variables, set persist binlog_cache_size with same value, 
unset and set without wait to ready, error workbench windows for nullReferenceException 

Suggested fix:
wait before accept new actions

I tried to reproduce your issue on Windows 11 with MySQL Workbench 8.0.42 and followed exact steps, but I am not seeing any issues at my end.
