Description:
Hello Team,

I'm not sure what is 'y' here "8.4.y" , I think it should "8.4.x"

Following is the link and text in MySQL documentation:

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.4/en/downgrading.html

Table 4.1 Downgrade Paths for MySQL Server

8.4.y LTS to 8.4.x LTS
8.4.x LTS to 8.0.y

How to repeat:
Following is the link and text in MySQL documentation:

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.4/en/downgrading.html

Table 4.1 Downgrade Paths for MySQL Server

8.4.y LTS to 8.4.x LTS
8.4.x LTS to 8.0.y

This is not a bug.
y refers to a version other than x.
8.4.5 to 8.4.1, for example.
