While checking for any updates in Sql Workbench from help tab a error message is popping up showing "Check For updates failed" <urlopen error unknown url type:https>.

How to repeat:
Open My Sql Workbench> Help Tab> Check For Updates

IMHO this is a duplicate of Bug #117369.
Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
