I have a Feature request for mysql: let "mysqld -V" (version, command line) also show build-number and build information if a user want to report a bug he/she can use this information along with detailed bug information (in case of crash)

Thank you for the feature request.
IMHO, a file named INFO_SRC containing meta data about the source code is generated and is available inside the docs folder of the installation(can confirm at least in the Generic Linux builds). Is this the one are you looking for? Please confirm.
