Description:
I used Workbench 8.0 on Ubuntu Debian version 20.0 and everything worked perfectly, I recently updated my OS to Debian 24.04 and since then it has been a nightmare to use WorkBench, it is always crashing when I switch between applications causing me to have to close it and every time I start it again my preference settings have been lost, such as: line limit, connection time and interface layout, anyone else having these problems?

How to repeat:
when I switch between applications, causing me to have to close it and every time I start it again I have to set my preferences again

Suggested fix:
Evaluate why settings are lost and crashes occur with newer versions of Ubuntu

Can you, please, include all actions that you performed, in the high detail, so that we can try to repeat them ???

The problem happens randomly, I usually use Sublime Text, WorkBench and Google Chrome and if I switch from WorkBench to any of these and return, Workbench crashes and my settings such as "DBMS connection keep-alive interval", "DBMS connection read timeout interval", DBMS connection timeout interval", limit of rows fetched and the SQL Editor layout return to default.

That means that we need all the settings of the WorkBench, all the connection details to the server, what exactly have you done , step by step..........

We are asking this since we are not able to repeat the behaviour with the data that you provided.

My workflow is:
Step 1: I start Chrome
Step 2: I start a project in Sublime Text
Step 3: I start WorkBench
Step 4: I copy the queries that need to be modified in Sublime Text and paste them into WorkBench
Step 5: I make the necessary changes and perform the necessary
changes and run tests until I get the information I need
Step 6: I apply the changes in Sublime Text
Step 7: I check the results by running the project in Chrome
This is my workflow and the cycle repeats itself, at some point in this cycle when switching between these apps WorkBench crashes, I will send screenshots with my WorkBench settings
