Description:
it is impossible to connect to any DB as I always got error.

I had to remove 8.0.40 and re-install 8.0.38

How to repeat:
1) install 8.0.40
2) run it
3) try to connect to an existing connection

Hello Valerio Messina,

MySQL Workbench 8.0.40 was originally released on October 15, 2024, without the mysql_native_password authentication plugin. The issue was addressed and Workbench 8.0.40 was re-released with the fix on October 31, 2024. If you installed the original release, then uninstall it before installing the newer version. I can confirm with the new packaged 8.0.40 I can login to all DBs. Close please
