Hello Anthony Marston, Thank you for the bug report. I tried to reproduce your issue on windows 11 with MySQL Configurator 8.4 with running MySQL Server 8.3 but I am not seeing any issues at my end. Please see the screenshot attached. Regards, Ashwini Patil

The difference is that all your directories are the default ones on the C: drive whereas my directories are on different drives, specifically: Install directory: E:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.3 Data directory: F:\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.3 Can your software work with those different directories?

Hello Anthony, May I know if you are using any kind of special characters or spaces in your password? No need to disclose your password of course. I believe it can also be related to the password not being set correctly internally. Will also look into using custom directories. As far as I can see you have your data directory in a different drive correct? Regards.

Yes, I have the data directory on a different drive. No, I do not have any special characters in the password. It is plain ASCII.
