Description:
It would be great if you made a symlink which always pointed to the latest release.
That way when you use scripts or build files like ANT you can always assure you got the latest version.

I hope that those would also be synced out to the mirrors.

How to repeat:
It isn't a bug but a feature request.

Hi Jacob,

Do you mean a symlink on the FTP sites, like:

ftp://ftp.easynet.be/mysql/Downloads/Connector-J/mysql-connector-java-CURRENT.tar.gz

Hi Jacob,

A good year has pasted, but your feature request wasn't forgotten.

A symlink would not work good when it comes to mirroring. Maybe it will work on some, maybe others will not allow, etc..

There are other works being done, namely to the download websites, which might provide a way to get the URLs to the latest version easily. This came up already, and I hope that it will be there.

I'm going to close this bug report, and lets hope the new download websites (whenever they come) will make it easier to get the latest version of anything within MySQL.

Cheers,

Geert

Yeah its no problem just thought it would be of great use and thus making MySQL better as a whole.
