Description:
I installed the ODBC and installation went without a hitch..
I tried to create a new data source from the odbc administrator in the control panel, but MyODBC driver does NOT appear..
I dug around and found TWO administrators, one in
C:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe which appears to be the 64bit one
and one in
C:\windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe which appears to be the 32bit one..

I created a data source with the latter (in which the MyODBC driver DOES appear)..

I then tried to use the datasource with office:

Excel 2003 - No problems, Get External Data/New Data Query returns data to excel
Access 2003 - New/attach table/odbc/ you get as far as selecting the data source, click ok, and access crashes..
Access 2000 - same as above, but it doesn't crash.. you see the data source, select it, click ok, the popup closes and nothing happens (i.e. you don't get the table list)..

F.Y.I MySqlFront works perfectly

How to repeat:
Install WinXp 64
Install MyODBC 3.51.11-2
Install MsAccess 2003
try to connect to a MySQL Database...

Suggested fix:
64bit odbc for windows?

While I was able to reproduce this bug, there was one thing that caught my attention.

I have WinXP64 w/MS Office 2003 installed, and the ONLY ODBC driver that I saw was for SQL Server. There where no XLS, Fox Pro, MDB, MySQL drivers available, so I'll mark this report as "not a bug".

I made a mistake in my previous comment. MyODBC needs to be recompiled for 64bits and then installed. Our current driver is for 32 bits.

WIll set this bug as a feature request.

Sorry, jorge, maybe I wasn't too clear about Excel: what I meant was that using the MyOdbc installed as explained I was able to use it IN excel as a datasource, to extract data from a MySql database to an excel spreadsheet...!
I never said that there was an excel odbc..!
You say it neads to be recompiled.. can you do that? I don't have the necessary sw (I still use VB6, I installed .NET and did an "open", "yuck!!", "close", although I *KNOW* I'm gonna have to make friends with it sooner or later!
