When attempting to synchronize model. the wizard gets to "Retrieve and Reverse Engineer Schema object". I press next. It crashes.

The destination schema is empty as it is new.

the following is the logs to that point:
Fetching table list.
    0 items from csbmetadb
OK
Fetching view list.
    0 items from csbmetadb
OK
Fetching routine list.
    0 items from csbmetadb
OK
Fetching trigger list.
    0 items from csbmetadb
OK

How to repeat:
Follow the wizard.

This is affecting me too. Last week, the model worked perfectly fine. No changes to anything between last week and today, and now it crashes at this exact same point.

I am on macOS, running same version 8.0.36. But the MWB file crashes the same on Windows, both 8.0.36 and 8.0.34.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MySQL Workbench 26.7 is a complete rewrite using a new technology stack and does not use the affected legacy implementation.
Therefore, this issue is not applicable to the current MySQL Workbench product and as such is closed.
