when I try to connect to a new connection, a pop-up appears with the message: "We are sorry for the inconvenience but an unexpected exception has been raised by one of the MySQL Workbench modules. In order to resolve this problem, we kindly ask you to file a bug report. You can do so by clicking on the [Report Bug] button below. 

Don't forget to include a detailed description of the actions that led to this problem.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help us improve MySQL Workbench!"

How to repeat:
Unfortunately I don't know. I use Workbench v8.0.36 with MySql server community v8.3.0.

Thank you for your bug report.

However, we do need a description of all actions that you have done when you arrived to this point. 

Have you defined user that connects to the server, have you granted the privileges on the server and all the other infor.

I didn't define any privilege or user at the time, but I got the message that the latest version of Worckbench didn't support the latest version of MySql DB, so I tried to downgrade the DB version and that's when the bug appeared. BUt, a complete uninstall and reinstall fixed the problem.
