I just downloaded MySQL QueryBrowser, installed it and the only place I saw the advanced toolbar is in the documentation. The checkbox to toggle it on or off is useless, and when I re-open the Options window, the checkbox is clear even if I checked and applied it. I looked in the mysqlqb_options.xml file and there's absolutely no entry for the advanced toolbar under the display group. Here is the display portion of the file : « <group name="Display"> <property name="ShowQueryToolbar" value="1"/> <property name="UseToolbarGradient" value="1"/> <property name="HideTabWhenOneOpen" value="0"/> <property name="ShowQueryBrowserSidebar" value="1"/> <property name="MaximizeSQLEdit" value="0"/> <property name="ShowMouseCursorToolbarGroup" value="1"/> <property name="ShowTextSearchDetails" value="0"/> <property name="SQLEditMaximizedRSTabSheetHeight" value="240"/> <property name="SQLEditMaximizedScriptTabSheetHeight" value="65"/> <property name="ShowQuickStart" value="0"/> <property name="ShowDragTargetWindowOnAltPressedOnly" value="0"/> <property name="ShowFieldOverlayImages" value="1"/> </group> » System : WinXP Home SP1 ; MySQL : 4.0.20a-debug

I have exactly the same problem that Ben Last described. I have installed MySQL Query Browser on my Windows XP Pro SP2 system. Selecting the "Show advanced toolbars" checkbox in the Tools/Options/Display Options page has no effect and is not persistent (i.e., check the box, click "Apply" button, then "Close" or X; reopen the options page, and the "Show advanced toolbars" checkbox is unchecked.) Without this, MySQL Browser is actually a hindrance. However, I use MySQL Administrator with good results and I have confidence that MySQL Browser will also be a good tool when fixed.

Just an FYI - this is still a problem in 1.1.13.

This appears to be the exact error I reported previously (11191) but which could not be duplicated. Clearly it has now been duplicated. I look forward to a solution. ...Bob

They removed the toolbar on purpose. I found a posting on the developer forums. http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?108,29139

Maybe the change is by design, but it does appear that it's a retrograde step in the opinions of many of us!

I just upgraded from 1.1.10 (Which had the Advanced Toolbars) to 1.1.13 and now I DO NOT have the advanced toolbar. Just as above, they cant be set in the Options dialogue either. This is a very unfortunate but. Its a big regression as far as Im concerned. Should get attention soon.

Yes, this is unfortunate, as the Advanced Toolbar was one of its greatest strengths (in my opinion). Looks as though it was ripped out of 1.1.13 by brute force.
