I cannot Check for Updates in MySQL Workbench v8.0.33. I verified with four other coworkers they are having the exact same issue and also cannot.

When I click into the Help > Check For Updates menu option I get a popup that states:

Check for updates failed
<urlopen error unknown url type  https>
Please verify that your internet connection is available.

Obviously my internet connection is fine as I am submitting this ticket to you. 

How to repeat:
 - Open MySQL Workbench
 - Click on the Help menu
 - Click on the Check for Updates

Suggested fix:
Um get it to allow me to check for updates
