Description:
I went to open my MySQL Workbench. I tried to run my connection, expecting it to open my connection, but I was met an error with the following text: 

"MySQL has encountered a problem, parameter is not valid"  

How to repeat:
First open the MySQL Workbench. Then try to open a connection, and you should be met with the same error I faced.

Hence, you should send us a screenshot of the dialog for the connection parameters. The one that leads to the error that you described.
