Unsupported version isn't an issue - 2 of my other Saved servers are on the same version and work fine

I finally tracked down the problem, so hopefully might help someone: The issue was in the server_instances.xml file found in: %AppData%\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\ There were duplicate entries for the server that did not work - I deleted the oldest entry for that server, saved and then reopened Workbench - All OK
